Northwest Waterfowl Watch
(Swartzwood and Culvers Lakes)
Leaders: Merle and Roger Tanis
Join leaders Merle and Roger Tanis on Saturday, November 21 to search for migrating waterfowl at Swartswood, Little Swartswood, and Culvers Lakes.
We will meet at 9:00 AM at the large swimming beach parking lot near the entrance to Swartswood Lake State Park. From this point, carpooling is a must! After consolidating into as few cars as possible, we will travel around the lake, stopping at all the usual viewing spots. From there the group will travel to Little Swartswood to see what additional birds can be spotted.
Driving back to Swartswood State Park, we will enjoy lunch by the lake. Those participants who cannot stay for the entire trip would be able to leave at this time.
After lunch we will head for Culvers Lake to search its waters and causeway for waterfowl and anything avian.
Dress for the weather! Bring spotting scope if you have one; if not, there will be others happy to share. If you plan to stay for the entire trip, don’t forget your lunch.
